Non-Fiction Activities
Activity 1 - The reason why students should read biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, and diaries is because they provide the most valuable lessons in life.

Fiction Activities
Activity 2 - A great novel reflects complexity. We may read it several times, and each time we read it we may find new insights. Once it's finished, we have a new understanding of the world around us and, most important, of ourselves.
Directions: Locate and read Dick King-Smith's book The Water Horse. The book level is 5.4 and can be read independently or with someone reading it to you. It is worth 2.0 Accelerated Reader points. An alternative option is to locate and read Dick King-Smith's book Dinosaur Trouble. This book level is 4.3 and it too is worth 2.0 Accelerated Reader points. You may take the AR test once you start your fourth grade year. You need to secure a copy of the book from either your local or school library, bookstore, or on-line ordering site.
